Veronica's "uses" page

I really like the idea of a "uses" page, and so here's mine! This is a work-in-progress, bear with me!

Video and audio production

Editing rig

(This is the computer you see behind me in videos)

  • Hardware
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
    • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600
    • RAM: 64GB (I bought before the prices went up, please don't get mad at me)
    • Storage: a pair of 2TB NVMe drives and a 4TB SATA SSD
  • Software
    • Debian Trixie
      • Desktop environment varies quite a bit, I frequently test a lot of different things and switch things up a lot for videos
      • I'm usually on Wayland but occasionally I use X11 if I'm having an issue with audio plugins or other ancient software
      • Terminal font: usually Iosevka
    • Video editor: Kdenlive
    • Audio editor: Ardour

Cameras, microphones, interfaces, etc

  • Cameras
    • A-roll/talking head footage: Panasonic Lumix G95 with a 25mm lens
    • Most other footage: Panasonic Lumix GH5 with a variety of lenses, too many to count
    • I formerly used a Panasonic Lumix G85 for everything, and occasionally use it for a secondary camera or an overhead shot as it's lighter than the GH5
  • Microphones
    • Most speaking footage for the channel as well as singing for The Stop Bits: a late 90s-era Rode NT-1
    • Guitar amps: some combination of the NT-1, or an EV RE20, or a Shure SM57/SM58
    • Ambience: a set of ancient Soviet-era Oktava mics I've had since I was a kid, or a Zoom handy recorder
    • Other: Shure Beta 52A (for kick/low-end recording), assorted drum mics which are occasionally used as a trigger
  • Interfaces
    • Main audio interface: Scarlett 2i2 which was a gift from a friend
      • Before I was gifted this interface, I used a Presonus Audiobox 96 from the mid 2000s
    • Video input
      • Main capture card: Avermedia Live Gamer Ultra 2.1
      • Secondary capture: Blackmagic Decklink Mini 4K
      • Additional capture: Blackmagic Intensity Pro 4K
